A LITTLE LUCK

Join us in welcoming our sister company from Uruguay at the Playhouse!

by Uruguayan playwright Omar Varela
performed by our friends at The Montevideo Players Society
the oldest English-speaking amateur dramatic society in South America.

3 Performances ONLY
August 29, 30, and 31

Friday and Saturday, 9 p.m.
Sunday, 7 p.m.
at The Playhouse, Moreno 80, San Isidro

For the first time in their history, the Montevideo Players bring to the stage a play by a Uruguayan playwright.

In this touching dramatic comedy, three adult siblings reunite at their late mother’s house, where long-hidden secrets, rivalries, and emotional memories emerge.

Inspired by Varela’s own family, the play invites us to reflect on the complexities of relationships with a mix of humour, tenderness, and truth.

This event marks yet another collaboration between the Suburban Players and the Montevideo Players, part of a renewed cultural exchange initiative between our two groups. We are proud to host their performance in Buenos Aires and will be bringing our own production of Closer to Montevideo later this year.

Join us afterward in the foyer for a drink and a chat with the cast!
Running time: 55 minutes

About the Montevideo Players Society
Founded in 1949, The Montevideo Players have been producing plays in English for 76 years. Entirely volunteer-run, they are known for their rich theatrical tradition and community spirit. Their permanent home, The Neil Fairless Centre, was established through a moving campaign to honour a beloved young member and now serves as the heart of their creative work in Montevideo.
